Hello All, My name is Joshua Heiman. This is my sixth year in Leaders’ and I am honored to serve as an Honor Leader (pun intended)! Currently I am studying at the University of Florida (Go Gators!) and, come the spring semester, I will be studying philosophy and education.

Here at UF, family is conveniently not far away. My older sister Elise is up here with me and is planning on going into the pharmacy school. The rest of my family is back in Tampa which (thankfully) is not too far of a drive to make. Visiting back home is always great because I not only get to see my family in person again, but I get to see how the youngest of the three children in my family, my brother Jason, is doing in his second year in Leaders’! He plans on coming up to BRLS this year and I am so excited to see how much he loves it.

When not with family or studying, I can usually be found with the Catholic student union at UF. I spend my time hanging out at the student center with my friends or taking part in a Bible study or some other fun event they put on. I’ve recently began taking part in their ministry program and plan to lead some retreats soon.

As this may imply, my faith is a big part of my life. Because of this, I have been considering joining the seminary and becoming a priest for almost three years now. Most recently I have been in contact with the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest (ICKSP). I plan on visiting their pre-seminary program over spring break and after that, I may apply to join in September of 2017. From there I would spend a few years studying with them until I became a priest (did someone say “Father Josh”?).

I can’t wait to go up to BRLS this year and I am so excited to see how this year goes. The other Honor Leaders have been great to talk to and I can tell that this is going to be one amazing group. Be sure to keep us in your prayers and God bless!
