Hello Friends!!! My name is Megan Curbelo and I live in Midlothian, Virginia. I have a wonderful mother and father who have always been very supportive of everything I do, including Leaders’ Club. I have a half-brother who will be getting married in 2017 in beautiful, sunny California, which I absolutely can’t wait to attend. I am a sophomore at Roanoke College (Go Maroons!), which is a small private school in Salem, Virginia. If you want to know more about the school or want to come visit it, request me as a tour guide because I’m a Maroon Ambassador. I also am apart of Student Government at my school where I hold the Health and Human Performance Senate seat. Although I was a very avid runner in middle and high school, I have switched up my sporting activities a bit and joined the Ultimate Frisbee team last year. I typically play in the position as a cutter but recently have been moving into a handler position (depending on who is on the line). I just recently applied to be an Athletic Training major and can’t wait to find out if I am accepted. Lastly, I am a member of the Chi Omega Fraternity (kind of confusing, I know) on my campus.. I love to help out my sisterhood in any way I possibly can and hopefully that will lead to a leadership position in the future. I love being super involved, in and around campus.

I have been a part of the Midlothian YMCA Leaders’ Club for 8 years now (woooh that’s a big number!!). I was able to join my lovely club with my best friend, Madison Barnard who I wouldn’t have come this far without. I went from being a shy little 7th grade girl to now a social butterfly because of what I learned in club and throughout my Blue Ridge experiences. I held the positions of Vice President twice and President my senior year. This upcoming year will be my 7th on the Mountain and I’m very ready to pass on the information that I have inherited onto the next generation of leaders. It has been an amazing experience to meet so many wonderful individuals who have helped me learn and grow into something I never thought I would be. I’m so very honored and humbled to be serving as one of the schools 2017 Honor Leaders. I’m very excited to get to know all that I haven’t met yet come June! Thanks for all the love and support and let’s all strive to make the Y and Leaders’ Club names proud!

Love y’all like I love that there are now 3 other Leaders’ Club kiddos on my campus now!!

Much Love,
Megan Curbelo
