Hello to all! My name is Victoria Swiber and I am from the one of a kind New Orleans, Louisiana. I am proud to have called New Orleans my home for the past eighteen years and don’t plan on leaving anytime soon. I have been a member of the East Jefferson YMCA Leaders Club for five years now and have attended BRLS for four years. My dad, Craig, was the one to originally get me involved with Leaders’ Club because he had enjoyed his time so much throughout the years in his club. As a six-year jacket recipient and two-time honor leader, I idolized him for all that he had accomplished through Leaders’ Club and BRLS. My parents have always encouraged me to be the best leader I can be and hold me to higher standards. Without their love, support and guidance to me as a leader, I would not be the same person I am today with the amazing opportunities I have been given.

Some fun facts about me, I am currently attending LSU (Geaux Tigers!) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and am loving every minute of it. I am majoring in Kinesiology with the hope of finishing my undergraduate and then continuing on to graduate school for either physical therapy or as a physician’s assistant. I am a member of the Alpha Eta chapter of Phi Mu at LSU, and I have enjoyed being able to meet new girls from across the country and helping out with Children’s Hospitals Miracle Network. In high school, I played volleyball for five years and was a member of back to back state champion teams (2014 & 2015). I participated in student government all five years in high school and was a member of National Honor Society. Also, I was a Eucharistic minister, a prayer group leader, a member of yearbook club and co-captain of the varsity volleyball.

I have loved devoting my time to the Y and spending time with the great people I have met. As for the future, I hope to one day be able take my knowledge and give back to the Y by volunteering to talk to and teach kids how to live with a healthy mind, body, and soul. I feel extremely blessed to be able to serve as a 2017 Honor Leader, and I am beyond excited to see what the future holds for this amazing school! I look forward to meeting all of you and making this the best year yet!

Sincerely,
Victoria Swiber
