Hey! My name is Bridgette (bridge-jet) and I am from Glen Allen, Virginia. I am a part of Shady Grove Leaders’ Club in the YMCA of Greater Richmond. I am a student at James Madison University (go dukes!!) in Harrisonburg, VA where I study Psychology and Disability Studies.

What is your favorite BRLS story, memory, or experience?

My favorite experience at BRLS is the Thursday Club Meetings. After a week of meeting new people and creating new memories, returning to your club to share about your week is always special. It is a meaningful time that allows our club to grow closer. I always leave feeling loved and valued.

What is your favorite Leaders’ Club story, memory, or experience?

I always enjoy Leaders’ Club trips and bonding retreats, because they allow for the club to get closer as a whole in a fun setting! Getting to be yourself with people who share a similar passion for leadership and service is my overall favorite part of Leaders’ Club!

What are you most looking forward to for BRLS this year?

I am most looking forward to giving back to the school that has given me so much and helped shape me into who I am. I am excited to meet the first-year leaders and hopefully contribute to a memorable experience! I can’t wait to be on the beautiful mountain with the people who make the week so magical.

If you could give your 1st year self one piece of advice, what would it be?

I believe you get out what you put in! The week is going to fly by quickly, so be fully present and participate to your fullest extent. Try to take a small step outside your comfort zone, make the week your own, and take in all the school has to offer!

Tell us a fun fact about anything!!

I have always wanted to be fluent in American Sign Language- I am currently learning! & I am known for getting injured almost every year on the mountain! :/
