My name is Joe Armstrong, an eighth year member of the Northside Leaders Club. In my free time I enjoy watching and participating in sports as well as writing a little bit. I am in my sophomore year of college studying Social Sciences with aspirations of being a sports writer/analyst as my career.

What is your favorite BRLS story, memory, or experience?

My favorite BRLS memory would have to be doing the Honesty devotion in 2018. It was such a tall task for a young group of leaders and the amount of preparation it took to get everything perfect was overwhelming at times, but it was all worth it in the end.

What is your favorite Leaders’ Club story, memory, or experience?

The 2017-2018 Leaders Club year is an experience that stands out to me. It was my first year as a High School Leader which at that time, meant a lot to me. I was able to learn so much about myself as well as those around me so much over the course of that school year. I often look back on that year and am grateful for the memories made during those ten months.

What are you most looking forward to for BRLS this year?

There are so many different things to look forward to for BRLS23, but what I am looking forward to the most is getting my sixth year jacket. Being able to share that moment with my family and fellow sixth years is so cool to think about.

If you could give your 1st year self one piece of advice, what would it be?

If I could go back to 2016 and tell first year me one thing, it would be to just have as much fun with life as possible because you only get one chance at it. Embrace every moment of it whether it’s good or bad and use it all as a learning experience for the future.

Tell us a fun fact about anything!!
