BRLS 2017 Registration Information

Key Dates & Deadlines


  • February 14, 2017:

Registration materials released

  • March 7, 2017:

Completed and returned registration packets may be postmarked on or after


  • April 1, 2017:

Drops after this date will be assessed a $100 cancellation fee per drop*

  • April 17, 2017:

Scholarship (BRLS financial assistance) awards will be sent out this week


  • May 1, 2017:

Registration deadline


  • May 1, 2017:

Drops after this date will owe full balance*


  • June 1, 2017:

Drops after this date will owe full balance*


  • June 17-24, 2017:


* There are exceptions for medical/family emergencies and extenuating circumstances


Where to send:

  • Money will be sent directly to Blue Ridge Assembly separate from the packet. Please make sure you include your club/YMCA name in with the check to make sure we can match it with the correct paperwork.

  • The adult (senior leader) to leader ratio has been changed to 1 senior to every 15 leaders maximum. To clarify, you are not required to bring more than 1 adult but that is as many as can initially register.  If you have additional senior leaders wanting to attend, please include them on your waiting list.
  • The Senior Leader Division class registration process has been updated. Make sure to review this info in the registration materials.

Recommended Suggestions

  • Advisors, please read through all the paperwork prior to filling out anything. There is a lot more detailed information in the packet that will help with the process.
  • We recommend each advisor take time to sit down with each leader and go over their schedule with them.  This helps make sure they are not only signing up for the correct required classes, but also you may be able to help select electives that will help them back at the Y or benefit them elsewhere. This is especially important for 1st year leaders as this is a whole new experience for them.
  • Before submitting your paperwork, please make a COPY of everything (front and back)!  If for some reason items get lost in the mail, you have a back-up copy.
  • We have needs based financial assistance available for leaders who otherwise could not afford to attend.  Please share this with the parents and submit these applications with your registration information.
